The Untameable Sallie Ford

One of those early 2013 releases I can’t wait to get my filthy paws on, Sallie Ford’s Untamed Beast is a record bursting with STRAIGHT-UP SASS, Y’ALL. My beloved Avett Brothers love her, she’s touring with Thao in a couple of months and I don’t think I’ve heard an F-bomb dropped so endearingly before, so, naturally, color me enthralled.

Field Report: Best Of What's Next

If you haven’t checked out Field Report yet, Get. On. It. Chris Porterfield is a brilliant songwriter and his debut was six years in the making. I’d call it “deliberately beautiful,” but you should absolutely give it a go and come up with your own gushy adjectives yourself.

Doing a spot of research before meeting up with Chris Porterfield of Field Report at Great Scott to talk about his upcoming record, and came across his old band, DeYarmond Edison, which also boasts Justin Vernon and Megafaun as members before they went off and got all meteoric with their respective projects. I wish I found this hours ago when hail was beating the shit out of the roof at the Dig office. Hell, I wish I found this years ago so that I could’ve committed their catalog to memory by now.
